This project empowers people to take up nature connection as a career option. To do this we will be running a free training program for a select few. We are looking for young adults (roughly between the ages of 18 and 21) who have passed out of govt schools or are from an underprivileged background or low-wealth community, who could be interested in working with children in Nature. If you think you do know someone who would fit this bill, please let us know using the form below?
We will interview, select, and mentor them in this process. In this first few months, they will be able to earn themselves small amounts of money while doing great work for society. Not to mention the incredible amount of learning and skills picked up on this journey. At the end of this program, they will have the skills to take this up as a career, should they choose. If you think you know someone who would fit this program, please let us know using the form below. Scroll down further for more details.
Q: How much time will the training take?
A: The training will require 6 months of interning with us. Dates will be decided in discussion with the trainee. Training will finish at the end of 5 supervised sessions conducted by the participants themselves. Further details will be put out soon.
Q: Why are you looking for participants from low-wealth communities?
A: We have over the past 5 years discovered that a large number of youth from these communities have had strong physical experiences in nature. On the other hand, urban youth have been pushed towards spending a lot of their time indoors and with electronic companions. If we want to reverse this trend and emphasis that nature connection is important, why not connect the two up? Also, this will enable the students to earn themselves small amounts money even during the training. We would like to give the opportunity to people who would find this truly useful.
Q: Should the participants have a particular qualification?
A: There is no need to have a formal educational certificate of any sort. These are things that will work in their favour:
- willingness to learn to communicate for practical purposes in English
- prior experience with children, whether this is younger siblings or another project/job.
- being outdoors in nature is enjoyable for them and they would like to share this.
- ability to communicate peacefully, without needing to bully/lie to get this task done.
- enthusiasm to learn how to connect a child to nature.
Q: How many students will you be choosing?
A: A maximum of 10 slots are available in this training.
Q: How much money will they/we earn?
A: This varies a little since each training and the course afterwards is individualized. Stipends will be provided during the course of the training.
Q: Where do I sign up to learn more?
